actually FoxBat's point was that you ought not be attacking human players and going for the npcs so AOE works very well there.

I prefer chucking something abit funnier at the Altar...like some Fire AoE's, and keep the defensive power of Ward Against Melee!

Considering that the average AB player kites less then mhenlo... yeah, MS and SH kill everyone.

(story time) One time with me as a monk with 2 fire eles, I went in an tanked an 8-something player mob while both eles threw their AoE. There were many lolz.

Also, fire ele's are good in AB because they can clear a shrine for capping very quickly, so your team can 2/2 split pretty well, then take and hold a lot more shrines that way.

actually just last night me and my friends shockwave spiked our way to Halls with no monks. There are some funny screen shots of us blowing up all the teams. i'll see if I can get my friends to send em to me to post.

it was like the old school eoe bomb. Lots of dots, then very few dots

bad or good it was funny to watch everyone chasing us down as we dashed around the maps and then jumped in and spiked everything then quickly jumped out.

the r-spike team was the worst HA team i have ever seen.

Like, this one time, at bandit camp, there were 2 eles and an assassin coming to cap the ranger shrine, and I was the only one thereerererere. Also, it's sometimes necessary to kill people in AB, namely when there are small groups (2-3 players) trying to cap the same shrine.

Yes, which is why there's almost always at least 8 idiots to bait into attacking you instead of shrines.

If you're in an uncoordinated pug, stalling isn't a bad idea. AB is usually uncoordinated, which makes it as much about human psychology as actual strategy.

In AB, essentially, there's 2 builds - builds that cap, and builds that stop other people from capping.

Most PuGs seem to place a much greater weighting on the former role, when really you only need one guy in a team of 4 to cap - if an MB or SH ele can clear a shrine by himself, why should his 3 team mates also build to clear NPCs? 3 cripshots instead would be pretty insane; stopping enemy teams from getting anywhere on the map will win games.

Also, it's kind of hard to cap shrines when every Luxon in the game is standing on one bridge.

I use to play elementalist back in the old days 3years ago or so, when 55hp monk costed a SOOOO much to make i decided to do a e/mo 55hp and it worked like a charm. I loved earth, in pve it was good. If used right it is good, aanyway to continue my story.. I came back a while back and ofcourse made new chars, monks, paragons, dervishes ritualists what not, yesterday I made a PVP elementalist, took a fire build and OMG OMGOMOGMOMGOM.. its so much fun its scary.. If you are not a idiot and know how to play you dont die like those suicidel ele/a earth builds, which ports to you and start comming PBAOE like mad.

Sure they might be fun, but fire is the way, you cap ANY shrine solo without problem you can nuke from under bridge up on walls, you can hold shrines from entire group by yourself once you get the build down.

I love when assassin run to you and you give them the hole burning fire treatment on the way to you, they are pretty roughed up when they get there, Flame djinn his ass, he dies and you run away.. totaly awesome!

assassins are so predicable its scary, yes sometime they spike you to death but usualy they die.

the get to the point!

FIRE! go FIRE! BURN, it was so much fun I started running my old elementalist thru NF yesterday to capture Searing Flame.

I Cant decide tho, SH or SF... SH .. SF... SH .. SF... Sh is fun, but SH is more spam..
